We have had some questions about this and we will need to update the documentation, but for now this should help. If you are having communication errors with the server make sure that you have the port included in the "REST Services target host:" field on the preferences page.
for example you should have the following syntax:
hostname.ibm.com:9082
this should help. Also if you have a firewall between where your ST/Notes is and where the Monito server is located you need to get through the firewall.
