More information would be helpful in diagnosing your problem. Was this the result of launching Eclipse.exe once you installed RIB? Was it in response to an attempt to validate the eclipse workbench?
The exception points to the default XML DocumentBuilder we sue in AOP-based validations and it is standard with JDK1.5. May want to try JDK5 if you are yusing JDK1.4.2.
