Hi ,

I have come to know that PLM is getting absolete. I am planning to implement automated dynamic cpu and memory adjustments across lpars in case of certain events. Is there any replacement for PLM or how to achieve it.

thanks

The hypervisor has built in support for automatically shifting processors and memory around between partitions based on need. For processors, it is Micro-partitioning with the partitions set to uncapped (in Standard or Enterprise). For memory, it is Active Memory Sharing (in Enterprise). There aren't ways to set up specific triggers, though. The hypervisor just shifts the resources around based on need and configurable "weights". I should also note that Active Memory Sharing requires VIOS.
