Hi every body ,

I'm using AIX v5.3 with VIOS.
After a long day of configuration and after a clean system reboot , I've faced
a problem of mount and even fsck command doesn't fix the problem.
this's a screen-shot of what I've obtained:
#################
$/>fsck /dev/datalv
The current volume is: /dev/datalv
Primary superblock is valid.
J2_LOGREDO:log redo processing for /dev/datalv
Fatal: I/O error
exec module "/sbin/helpers/jfs2/logredo64" failed.
logredo failed (rc=5). fsck continuing.
Primary superblock is valid.
      • Phase 1 - Initial inode scan
Fatal: I/O error
###############
please help me , I'm pressed with the time ...

Best regards,
Ben Othmen Ilyes

Hi for those who have the same pb, In fact fsck is a way that I tried with no effect , But
I've solved the problem as follow:

first :
lsvg
lspv -p datavg --> hdisk3 PV STATE=MISSING

==>
varyoffvg datavg
rmdev -dl /dev/hdisk3
mkvdev hdisk3
reaffecte hdisk3 unit from VIOS console
cfgmgr
varyonvg datavg
mount -a to execute /etc/filesystems config file

and it work fine ...
thanks to Google

Hello

Unfortunatelly, have the same issue on VIOS 1.5.1.1 and AIX53 TL10 client partition

Sorry, but can you explain more.

Did you mean "mkvdev hdisk3" on VIOS or "mkdev" on AIX partition?

And next, you just reassign SCSI-virtual adapter on HMC to AIX partition or you completele redefine virtual device on VIOS ?

Thank you.

Hi,
I've done a mistake to write mkvdev in place of mkdev,
Since you haven't format a disk data is not lost.

you're welcome
