Hi guyz,

We are on Maximo 6.2, Oracle 10g, Weblogic App Server.

Recently, we notice that our application is getting slower. I see the following in the log file whenever it gets slower:

Please see the growth of Mbos and Mbosets on PRLine (in the log snippet above)

As this continues, after few hours the number of MBOs and MBOSets on PRLine increases and at one point of time it spikes to an extent where it has 2608 mbosets and 36709 MBOs on PRLine

06 Nov 2009 20:31:52:561 INFO PR: mbosets (15), mbos (6222)
06 Nov 2009 20:31:52:561 INFO PRLINE: mbosets (6208), mbos (36709)

As this continues, the memory usage increases, which leads to OutofMemoryException. Eventually the node (in the cluster) stops functioning.

Have you guyz faced any such issue earlier? If so, kindly revert back with the possible solution.

Thanks

Swiz

I totally sympathize with you, we too have these problems and our solution is to restart the application, otherwise we run out of memory also. One difference between your setup and our is that we use WebSphere.

I recently posted a question on how to automate restarting Maximo for which I built a PowerShell script around two IBM supplied batch files for stopping and starting my Maximo instance.

I believe you are going to need to employ something similar whereby you restart the application once a day (depending on use of course) in order to avoid abrupt disruptions when Maximo crashes.
