Part 3 of this tutorial series focuses on two DVD rental companies' interfaces and Web services implementations. It also covers how to create their WSDL service descriptors and connect the service to an aggregator service. You can also examine the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and learn how to scale this model for future versions.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes that you have completed the first two tutorials in this series: Introduction to Web services and the WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition Version 5.1 and Creating a Web service from a Java class using WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition Version 5.1. You should have an equivalent understanding of Web services and the WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition. It is also helpful if you have a working knowledge of Java programming language and XML.


System requirements

To run this examples in this tutorial, you need to install :

  • Java SDK 1.3.1 to run the Application Developer Integration Edition Version 5.1
  • Application Developer Integration Edition Version 5.1 (trial version available)
