Learn how to create a Web service that provides a DVD rental service and a client for that service. This tutorial shows you how to create a Web service from a Java class using WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition. The next two tutorials will cover two DVD rental services and a rental service search aggregator service.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of Java programming language and XML. Knowledge of J2EE technology and Ant are helpful but not required.


System requirements

To run this examples in this tutorial, you need to install :

  • Java SDK 1.3.1 to run the Application Developer Integration Edition Version 5.1
  • Application Developer Integration Edition Version 5.1 (trial version available)
