Learn how to install and configure the IBM® Rational® Asset Manager Eclipse client, explore the different views in the Asset Management perspective, learn various search techniques, work with existing assets, and submit a new asset. When you complete this tutorial, you will have worked through all of the skills that are needed to successfully use the Rational Asset Manager Eclipse client. This tutorial is part of the Hello World tutorials series on IBM Software Delivery Platform products.

In this tutorial

Learn how to:

  • Install the Eclipse client by using the update site
  • Create a new repository connection
  • Work with and manage elements in the My Repository view
  • Find assets using keywords, tags, and filters
  • Import assets into your workspace
  • Create and submit a new asset


Prerequisites

This tutorial is written for users who are familiar with Eclipse and who have a working installation of Rational Asset Manager Web client. You will need administrator authority in the Web client to install the sample model.


System requirements

To complete the steps in this tutorial, you need a Linux or Windows machine with Eclipse, and administrator authority on a machine with Rational Asset Manager V7.0 Web client installed.
