This tutorial shows you how to use IBM Rational Web Developer for WebSphere Software 6.0 to quickly build a Web auction client that interacts with a database and a set of auction site Web services. You will write minimal amounts of code and use Faces Components and Service Data Objects to visually construct your Web pages.

Prerequisites

This tutorial is written for developers with minimal Java experience who need to build dynamic Web solutions quickly. Previous experience with visual editors will help you complete the tasks described.


System requirements

To complete this tutorial you will need to have the following software installed:

  • Rational Web Developer 6.0 with WebSphere Test Environment 5.1
  • DB2 Universal Database Express V8.2
