The Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software Java™ Development tutorial is the first tutorial in a series of seven tutorials created to help you get ready for the IBM certification test. Learn how to set workbench preferences, work with views and perspectives, import and export wizards, use the Help features, the resource Local History feature, and manage your workspaces in Rational Developer for WebSphere Software.

Objectives

After completing this tutorial you will know how to set workbench preferences, manage workspaces, and how to work with views and perspectives. You will also become familiar with the import and export wizards, and the local history and help features.

Prerequisites

This tutorial is written for developers whose skills and experience are at a beginning to intermediate level. You should have a general familiarity with using an integrated development environment.


System requirements

To run the examples in this tutorial, you need to install Rational Application Developer for Software or Rational Web Developer for WebSphere Software. Download a free version of Application Developer for WebSphere Software if you don't already have a of it. The hardware and software requirements for this software can be located at IBM Rational Application Developer System Requirements
