Multidimensional clustering is a unique new feature in DB2 Version 8.1 that is designed to improve the performance of large DB2 databases, particularly data warehouses and data marts, and dramatically improve the speed at which you can retrieve records. This tutorial is designed to help you understand the concepts behind multidimensional clusters as well as how to implement them.

Prerequisites

If you work with large databases and want to dramatically improve their performance, or would simply like to learn more about this powerful new feature, this tutorial is for you.


System requirements

You'll have to have the DB2 Universal Database 8.1 installed and running properly before beginning the tutorial. The tutorial includes a link to a free trial download of DB2 Universal Database 8.1.
