01 Apr 2004 In this tutorial, you'll learn about writing Java code that interfaces with DB2 Universal Database. This is the fifth in a series of seven tutorials that you can use to help prepare for the DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Application Development certification exam (Exam 703).
Prerequisites
To take the DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Application Development exam, you must have already passed the DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals exam (Exam 700). You can use the DB2 Family Fundamentals tutorial series to prepare for that test. It is a very popular tutorial series that has helped many people understand the fundamentals of the DB2 family of products. In addition to this DB2 background, you should also have basic knowledge of SQL and the Java platform before taking this tutorial.
System requirements
The tutorial includes a link to a free trial download of IBM DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Edition. However, you do not need a copy of DB2 Universal Database to complete the tutorial.
