15 May 2008 This tutorial introduces IBM® Data Studio and the IBM Data
Studio Developer offering, and shows you how IBM Data Studio Developer can be used to
develop applications with Informix® Dynamic Server (IDS).
Objectives - Become familiar with Data Studio Developer
- Set up Data Studio Developer to connect to IDS
- Create Web services with IDS
- Create a pureQuery application with IDS
Prerequisites
This tutorial is assumes that you:
- Know how to set up IDS, have basic IDS knowledge, and have IDS installed. The
version of IDS used in this tutorial is IDS 11.
- Have some basic experience with the use of Eclipse, since Data Studio is and
Eclipse-based IDE.
System requirements
To run the examples in this tutorial, you need a Windows XP system with IBM Data
Studio installed, and an Informix server (local or remote) with an Informix JDBC
driver (Version 3.00.JC3) installed. This tutorial uses the superstores_demo database. This can be created by running “dbaccessdemo9.cmd" in your INFORMIXDIR\bin directory.
