Prerequisites
To complete this tutorial successfully, you need to have a basic knowledge
of WebSphere Portal and Omnifind Eterprise Edition. Make sure you have access
to The OmniFind Enterprise Edition Installation Guide and Administration
Guide (see Resources). Before you attempt to do the integration steps, make sure that both WebSphere Portal and OmniFind Enterprise Edition are installed on their respective servers and are functioning normally. Only then should you attempt to modify configurations as specified explicitly in this document. Please pay extra attention to cautionary notes highlighted with a warning sign.
System requirements
The scenario described in this tutorial was implemented using the following configuration:
- The operating system is Windows® 2003 Server, Enterprise Edition, 32 bit platform.
- OmniFind Enterprise Edition version 8.4 is integrated with WebSphere Portal Server version 6.0.2.17.
- OmniFind Enterprise Edition has been deployed in the Single Server configuration with sufficient Intel® x86-based hardware, as per standard sizing recommendations for searchable content limited to less than 1 million documents.
- WebSphere Portal has been deployed over WAS ND clustered over two nodes and deployed on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition.
