Get an overview of how to build enterprise-based applications for mobile devices using WebSphere® Client Technology and WebSphere Device Developer. You will learn how to build a sample Web-based order tracking application using the Workplace Client Technology programming model, which allows users to submit orders and track them.

Prerequisites

You must have a working knowledge of DB2® Everyplace, WebSphere Client Technology, and WebSphere Device Developer in order to complete this tutorial.

Download the IBM Workplace Client Technology, Micro Edition 5.7. You must also have DB2 Everyplace installed.

About this tutorial

This tutorial provides an overview of how to build enterprise-based applications for mobile devices using WebSphere Client Technology and WebSphere Device Developer. You will build a sample Web-based order-tracking application using the WebSphere Client Technology programming model, which allows users to submit orders and track them. The order information is stored locally on mobile devices using a DB2 Everyplace database in disconnected mode and can be later synchronized to a master database using synchronizing technology provided by WebSphere Client Technology.
