DB2 z/OS SQL procedures in VS.NET - build options

This tutorial demonstrates the use of the advanced features of the IBM DB2 Development Add-In for Visual Studio .NET to create and deploy SQL stored procedures from a development environment to a production DB2 for z/OS database environment.

Prerequisites

The DB2 Development Add-In for Visual Studio .NET enables z/OS developers to easily build and deploy SQL stored procedures across multiple configurations with varied SQL build options in a team development enviornment. You must have a working knowledge of DB2 and VS.NET.


System requirements

The tutorial was built using software from both IBM andMicrosoft:

  • IBMDB2 Stinger Application Development Client.
  • IBMDB2 Stinger Development Add-In for VS.NET.
  • IBMDB2 for z/OS V7 to be installed and configured on the mainframe server.
  • MicrosoftVisual Studio .NET 2003.
  • MicrosoftWindows 2000, 2003, XP, or NT operating system.
  • TheOptions Manager tool provided in this tutorial.
