This tutorial is the extension of the tutorial Creating Web services on Windows® to access DB2®. This tutorial shows you how to develop a .NET Web service for accessing a DB2 database with DB2 .NET managed data provider using the IBM® Development Add-Ins provided by DB2 Universal Database (UDB) v8 FixPak 2, for Visual Studio .NET and how to consume Web services developed from both WORF and .NET technology in a Java Web application.

Prerequisites

The tutorial assumes that you have read the tutorial "Creating Web services on Windows to access DB2" and have the environment set up.


System requirements

To complete the steps in this tutorial, you'll need Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2000, DB2 UDB V8.1 FixPak and IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer Version 5.0.
