Get an overview of WebSphere® Federation Server in this basic tutorial, which includes demos and hello world exercises. You'll step through two practical exercises where you will create data sources from a DB2® database, an XML document, and a Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet, and then federate them. You can keep up on all the Hello World tutorials on the Hello, World overview page.

Prerequisites

Familiarity with WebSphere Federation Server is not required.


System requirements

To run the examples in this tutorial, you need to install DB2 Universal Database and WebSphere Federation Server. This tutorial is based on version 9.1 of both products.

To view the demos included in this tutorial, you should have Java™Script enabled in your browser, and Macromedia Flash Player version 6 or later installed. You can download the latest Flash Player at http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/.
