IBM Rational Developer for i for SOA Construction provides tools for web development and for creating, maintaining and enhancing existing RPG and COBOL applications. Rational Developer for i for SOA Constructions contains two products: IBM Rational Business Developer and IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems Software - RPG and COBOL Development Tools for i.

The combination of IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems Software and IBM Rational Business Developer enables developers to create web applications and web services that leverage existing IBM i applications all with a programming language (EGL) that are easy for RPG and COBOL developers to learn.

* IBM Installation Manager is about 90MB. The size of the trial code itself and the download time required varies according to the product components and language you select. The estimated download time using Download Director over a 1.5Mbps connection is approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes for Rational Business Developer, about 2 hours for Rational Developer for Power, and approximately 31 minutes for Rational Host Access Transformation Services. The Installation Manager downloads require significantly less time.
