Download the Rational® ClearQuest® ALM Appliance
7.1, a virtual server with Rational ClearQuest 7.1,
pre-configured with easy to use and flexible change
management practices, project iteration planning, work
tracking, and modern web 2.0 based access for global
teams. The appliance includes a pre-configured IBM DB2
database repository and runs as a virtual SUSE Linux
server on a VMware hypervisor. After setup, you're ready
to go.
The use of the ClearQuest ALM Appliance is for evaluation
only. The evaluation period is 30 days. All of the
product's features and enabled. This evaluation program requires the Rational ClearQuest
evaluation key. After completing the registration,
download all part files of the Rational ClearQuest ALM
Applicance and the 30-day evaluation key. After unpacking
and starting the appliance, install this evaluation key
file in the Rational License Key Administrator
pre-configured on the appliance. Note: The estimated download time over a 1.5Mbps connection
is 12 hours. We recommend that you use Download Director, which requires a Java-enabled browser and provides pause-and-resume capability for large downloads, high-speed transfer, and file access through firewalls.

The following information lists the server and client system requirements for using the Rational ClearQuest ALM Appliance.
Server configuration
The Rational ClearQuest ALM Appliance runs as a virtual SUSE
Linux server on a VMware hypervisor. Download and license the
appropriate hypervisor for your needs, either
VMWare ESX Server or
Workstation.
Note: The SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is provided and licensed
directly by Novell for evaluation
purposes only. You will be required to
accept the separate Novell license before using the virtual
image. IBM disclaims any and all express
and implied warranties and conditions and any form of
liability, concerning the Linux Server. Novell licenses for the Linux Server for
any other purposes are available for purchase from IBM
and from Novell.
Other server hardware requirements:
- Processor: Pentium Xeon (32-bit) (minimum), Dual or Quad core (32-bit) (recommended)
- Memory: 4 GB (minimum). Additional memory required for multiple images.
- Disk space: 30 GB free disk space (minimum). Additional space required for VMWare hypervisor, ClearQuest project assets and multiple images.
Client configuration
Web browser access to the appliance is recommended. Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are supported.
The installation guide provided with the Rational ClearQuest ALM Appliance download includes instructions on how to start using the appliance and the pre-configured change management process.
