Use IBM Informix Developer Edition on the cloud. Developer Edition includes all the functionality available in the Informix-Ultimate edition but does contain scalability constraints including processing, memory and storage limitations.

It provides a foundation for building on demand solutions for high volume transaction processing, high-volume web-based solutions, and integrated warehouse platform for end-to-end business analytics. Informix provides scalable administration with near hands free administration, automated administrative tasks through programmable APIs, functions to facilitate ISV integration, customize deployment, and remote administration.

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud
The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud uses an Amazon Web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Pricing allows you to pay only for the resources and images which you use. If you are an ISV building Software-as-a-Service applications, you may be eligible to leverage IBM’s development Amazon Machine Images (AMIs.)
Informix Developer Edition V11.5 is available at the low cost of your Amazon Web Services usage, for development use only, with no time limits, and no support.
There is no fee from IBM for the AMI. You are responsible for the Amazon EC2 usage charges.
