IBM® Informix® Developer Edition offers outstanding online transaction processing (OLTP) database performance and helps simplify and automate many of the tasks associated with deploying databases for medium to enterprise business applications.

Use IBM Informix Developer Edition on the cloud. Developer Edition includes all the functionality available in the Informix-Ultimate edition but does contain scalability constraints including processing, memory and storage limitations.
IBM Informix is designed to meet the database server needs of small-size to large-size enterprise businesses. It provides a foundation for building on demand solutions for high volume transaction processing, high-volume web-based solutions, and integrated warehouse platform for end-to-end business analytics. Informix provides scalable administration with near hands free administration, automated administrative tasks through programmable APIs, functions to facilitate ISV integration, customize deployment, and remote administration.

IBM SmartCloud Enterprise
IBM SmartCloud Enterprise provides you with quick access a security-rich, enterprise-ready testing and development environment to help reduce costs, shorten cycle times and improve quality. With the IBM Cloud, you can access and pay for development and testing resources as you need them.
The IBM Cloud gives you rapid self-service provisioning, high payback through reduced costs, error reduction, and accelerated application development through on-demand provisioning. Available image use options are described below.

To start developing on the IBM Cloud using Informix Developer Edition V11.5 or V11.7, you'll need to set up an account. Contact your IBM representative to help you get started. If you already have an account, log in and get started now.

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud
The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud uses an Amazon Web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Pricing allows you to pay only for the resources and images which you use. If you are an ISV building Software-as-a-Service applications, you may be eligible to leverage IBM’s development Amazon Machine Images (AMIs.)
Informix Developer Edition V11.5 is available at the low cost of your Amazon Web Services usage, for development use only, with no time limits, and no support.
There is no fee from IBM for the AMI. You are responsible for the Amazon EC2 usage charges.
Get started
To start developing on Amazon EC2 using Informix Developer Edition, you'll need an Amazon account. If you don't have one, create one now.
