** Download IBM Installation Manager (180MB), which is a tool that enables you to download the product code. The size of the product code itself and the download time required varies according to the product components and language you select.

The estimated download time over a 1.5Mbps connection is approximately 32 minutes for the administration client. For the full client, the approximate download time is 1 hour and 49 minutes. For the Web console, the approximate download time is about 11 minutes. When you use Installation Manager, the download time is significantly less.

Full client or administration client: Not sure which to choose? The administration client is a lighter weight offering for non-Java™ routine development that is ideal for administrators to get up and running quickly and easily. The full client adds in an integrated Eclipse development environment for database administration and routine and Java application development that can be installed with other IBM software products so that they can share a common environment. Compare editions to find the one right for you.
