IBM® Data Studio provides database developers and DBAs with an integrated, modular environment for development and productive administration of DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows databases. It also provides collaborative database development tools for DB2 for z/OS, DB2 for i, and Informix databases. Additionally, you can optimize, secure, and simplify database applications that are enabled with InfoSphere® Optim pureQuery Runtime.
Note: Data Studio now includes Optim Development Studio, Optim Database Administrator, Data Studio Health Monitor and the client for InfoSphere Optim Query Workload Tuner. You can also download the IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio with the Data Studio client.
IBM Data Studio is a fully licensed product available at no charge and with no time restrictions.
Use IBM Installation Manager to select, download, and install only the code, features, or product extensions that you want. Product extensions allow you to extend your install beyond the Data Studio feature set.

For most installations, you need the client component; for job management and health monitoring, you also need the web console component.

* Third-party product extensions for the Data Studio client: IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio V3.1 is a component of the DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS program that provides a GUI for the administration of DB2 Analytics Accelerator.
** Important: If you previously installed 32-bit products on your computer with a 32-bit version of Installation Manager, you must download the 32-bit version of the IBM Data Studio package because it includes a compatible 32-bit version of Installation Manager. You can then use the 32-bit package to install either a 32-bit or 64-bit version of the IBM Data Studio product. For detailed instructions about downloading and installing IBM Data Studio, see Downloading and installing IBM Data Studio Version 4.1.
