Configure the Performance Expert Client to recognize Performance Expert Extended Insight Feature

  1. Make sure the Performance Expert Server is running. On Windows, to verify the Performance Expert Server is running, open the Windows Services, then scroll down until you see the service name "DB2 Performance Expert Server V3 on <your DB2 instance name>":

    From UNIX, enter <Performance Expert Installation directory>/bin/pestatus to verify the Performance Expert Server is running:

  2. Start your Performance Expert Client by clicking on the IBM DB2 Performance Expert Client V3 desktop icon:
  3. After opening the Performance Expert client, you need to log in and then edit the monitored DB2 instance to enable the Performance Expert Extended Insight Feature.
  4. Click on the instance you wish to enable for Performance Expert Extended Insight Feature on the left side of the window under All instances:

  5. Double-click on DB2 to log in to the Performance Expert Server for this DB2 monitored instance.
  6. Enter your DB2 Performance Expert user ID and password:

  7. After you have logged in, right-click on DB2 and select Properties from the drop-down menu:

  8. Select the End-to-End Data tab:

  9. Select the check box next to Collect end-to-end data. After you select the check box, notice the end-to-dnd configuration parameters become active:

  10. Click on OK to accept the changes:
