Data mining provides advanced analysis techniques to extract useful information from large data. Historically, data mining has been a task that could only be accomplished by experts in statistics and data analysis. The results of data mining, on the other hand, are often relevant to a variety of users across the company. This series of articles covers the general architecture and business opportunities of combining IBM® InfoSphere™ Warehouse data mining with IBM Cognos® reporting. This integration enables people across the company to exploit data mining results. This first article introduces the basic integration architecture and also includes a short, technical case study to give you a basic understanding of how to achieve the integration.
