This detailed 68-page paper is intended for people who are involved in a project to plan, set up and execute a mobile project with DB2® Everyplace™. The intention is to describe the lifecycle of a mobile project with DB2 Everyplace, in order to ease development effort and reduce project costs. Our tips and advice are based on on-site personal experience in various mobile projects with DB2 Everyplace Versions 7.2 and Version 7.2.1.

The first part of this paper is a technical overview of IBM's mobile solutions, including DB2 Everyplace V7.2 and V8.1. We will describe some sample mobile scenarios and the available synchronization techniques using DB2 DataPropagator™ and JDBC™.

The second part of this paper is a description of a mobile project setup framework which you can use to help design or execute a mobile project with DB2 Everyplace. The prerequisite for this framework chapter is a deep understanding of the DB2 Everyplace features and functionality. So, all readers who have this technical knowledge can start directly with the framework.
