19 Mar 2002 Updated 11 Jul 2005 These porting guides contain information to help you understand the differences in architecture, APIs, terminology, data types, and administration to help you make the move to DB2 from either Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server.
Introduction
If you are ready to port to DB2®, sometimes the toughest part of the job can be just figuring out how to take what you know about one database product and map that to DB2. These guides map the architectures, terminology, programming APIs, and administration features of Sybase Adaptive Server and Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 to DB2 Version 7.2 (UNIX, Windows, and OS/2).
