Updated 11 Jul 2005 This sample code contains snapshot monitoring files for the C programming language. In order to use these files, you must also use the error-checking utility files. The snapshot monitoring sample code gives you detailed information on database operation. Use snapshots to optimize your database's performance.
About the sample code
The sample code is delivered in a zip (Windows) file approximately 20 KB in size and tar.gz (UNIX) files which is approximately 16 KB in size. For more information, view the readme for Windows and OS/2 or the readme for UNIX.
The snapshot monitoring code samples contain the following files:
- clisnap.c - Gets a snapshot at the application level.
- dbsnap.c - Gets a snapshot at the database level.
- insnap.c - Gets a snapshot at the instance level.
- utilsnap.c - Utilities for the snapshot monitor samples.
Prerequisites
In order to use the snapshot monitoring sample files, you must also acquire the error-checking utility files. The utility files have been upgraded, and the old versions found in the DB2 Version 7 sample files are not compatible with these new snapshot monitoring files. Ensure that the new utility files are included when you compile the new snapshot monitoring files.
