Analyzing failed 1

Problem

Error message: Analyzing failed. A DataAdvisor Service exception occurred. Additional information:CreateTM1CubeFailed. Data source name not found and no default driver specified.

Causes

The error message is only generated during an analysis of an OLAP, server based model. This is a possible cause:

  • The DSN does not exist on the server.

Solution

The solution can be:

  • Check the name of the DSN on the server and client systems, add or rename as necessary.
  • Change the model generation to client based.

Note that if the model generation is changed to client based only the client has access to the source data. There may be a decrease in performance. Please refer to the IBM Cognos Express Data Advisor User Guide.

  1. Click Start > Run on the server.
  2. In the open field, type %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.
  3. Click OK to launch the 32-bit data sources application.
  4. From the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box, select the System DSN tab.
  5. Make sure that one of the listed data sources is exactly the same as on the client system. If you have to create a new datasource, do steps from Error: Reference source not found to the end, otherwise do steps Error: Reference source not found to the end.
  6. Select Add.
  7. The Create New Data Source dialog box opens.
  8. From the drop down menu, select the data source driver.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. The dialog box for the driver type opens.
