Migration

Migrate Now!

Welcome to the IBM Migration Toolkit website. The IBM Migration Toolkit is an easy-to-use tool that allows you to migrate your data from a wide variety of source databases to either DB2 or Informix, regardless of platform.

About the IBM Migration Toolkit

NOTE: The IBM Migration Toolkit is available for use but is deprecated and no longer supported.

The IBM Migration Toolkit provides a full-functioning GUI interface that offers multiple options to refine and customize each migration. The toolkit is very portable, making it possible to import and convert on a machine remote from where the source or target databases are installed.

The IBM Migration Toolkit supports migrations from source databases: Oracle, Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE), Sybase SQL Anywhere (ASA), and Microsoft SQL Server. It supports migrations to target databases: DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, DB2 for i5/OS, DB2 for z/OS, and Informix.

The IBM Migration Toolkit is available in English and can be run from a variety of hardware platforms. Try the latest version of MTK, which includes support for DB2 LUW 9.7 and many defect fixes (see Download section).

The following table lists the supported source and target combinations:

Help: Update or add to My dW interests

What's this?

This little timesaver lets you update your My developerWorks profile with just one click! The general subject of this content (AIX and UNIX, Information Management, Lotus, Rational, Tivoli, WebSphere, Java, Linux, Open source, SOA and Web services, Web development, or XML) will be added to the interests section of your profile, if it's not there already. You only need to be logged in to My developerWorks.

And what's the point of adding your interests to your profile? That's how you find other users with the same interests as yours, and see what they're reading and contributing to the community. Your interests also help us recommend relevant developerWorks content to you.

Help: Remove from My dW interests

What's this?

Removing this interest does not alter your profile, but rather removes this piece of content from a list of all content for which you've indicated interest. In a future enhancement to My developerWorks, you'll be able to see a record of that content.
