Only approximately 25 percent of most organizations' data types is sensitive and this raises the question: Should you design your cloud applications to employ 100 percent of your available security resources to protect all of your data types? This method is resource greedy; but there is another way. In this article, the author proposes creating three classifications for each type of data your organization owns, then using those classifications to determine how to apply security to each type of data as you design the application that will use the data. It's called Regulatory Compliant Cloud Computing (RC3).
