The Samples Scenario identifies how self-configuring installation behavior is defined and carried out, and allows the user to verify each step of the installation by viewing the repository of installed components.
Supported platforms: See this table for a list of supported platforms.
Note: The prerequisites listed below are required if you want to install the solution installation samples scenario using the ISC console (recommended). However, an installation option allows you to bypass installing the prequisites and run the samples in command-line mode. If you change your mind later and want to change to an Integrated Solutions Console-based scenario, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the Solution Installation and deployment samples Scenario.
All OS/400 bundles require PTFs SF99269 and MF34019 to be installed prior to installing any of the Toolkit bundles. You can download PTFs from the support site, Fix Central.
The InstallAnywhere scenario shows a real packaging and installation implementation of the solution installation architecture. This scenario performs the same installation as the FNPIM Scenario, but uses the InstallAnywhere install engine from IBM partner Macrovision. The installation of the package is the actual scenario. The scenario installs three IUs, each one containing a single file. If you are interested in developing with these technologies (rather than just viewing the demonstration given in the scenario), you must obtain a licensed version of InstallAnywhere from the Zero G Web site.
