System Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Systems must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 9.† on Windows® 7 & Vista®
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.†, 8.† on Windows XP®
- Mozilla® Firefox® 3.x & 11.† on Windows 7, Vista, & XP
- Mozilla Firefox 3.x & 11.† on Macintosh® OS X 10.6 & Lion®
- Mozilla Firefox 3.x & 11.† on RedHat® Linux® Desktop – x86-32 5.0, 6.0
- Apple® Safari® 5.† on Macintosh OS X 10.6 & Lion
- JVM versions: Sun 1.5, Sun 1.6, or IBM 1.5
- Adobe® Flash 11.2 +
- Cookies and Scripting enabled in the browser
- Internet connection speed of 128 Kbps or higher
- Internet connection with HTTP and HTTPS access
The dagger symbol † indicates that the most-current non-beta version at that branch level receives support.
Joining Meetings
Systems must meet the minimum requirements. Additional supported systems and requirements:
Application Viewing Requirements
- Meetings Plug-In or a Java Runtime Environment version 1.5 or higher (Please note that the Microsoft VM is not supported)
Document Publishing
- No downloads or plug-ins are required for presentations limited to document publishing
- Only the basic system requirements must be met by hosts and participants
Videocasting Requirements
- Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Internet Explorer, LotusLive Meetings Plug-In
- Microsoft Windows, Firefox, LotusLive Meetings Plug-In
- Linux, Firefox, and Java 1.5+
- Apple Mac with Intel CPU, Mac OS X 10.5/10.6, Apple Safari 4.0, or Firefox 3.5, 3.6
Certain features will require additional network bandwidth. Slower connections will work, but the experience may not be optimal:
- Audiocasting 136 Kbps
- Application Sharing 240 Kbps Average (Auto setting and typical UI update rates)
- Publishing download rate of slide presentation content is proportional to the available bandwidth. The basic 128 Kbps requirement will provide reasonable performance.
- Videocasting 50 to 300 Kbps (ideal)
