The Computer Users Association (CUA) is an independent organisation specialising in arranging briefings through out each year on topical business related IT subjects of value to all IT influencers, irrespective of industry sector. CUA events are not sales pitches, but independent training days.

The CUA currently has two sub-groups; UK and Business Partners, both of which focus on an IBM audience. The former is part of the worldwide Common organisation, and focuses on the iSeries platform.

Membership Benefits

The CUA operates a membership model, whereby member organisations pay an annual subscription that provides them with a set of benefits, including 50% discount for attendance at the any briefing event. Additionally, the other benefits of CUA membership can be summarised as:

All members receive an automatic 50% reduction in the price of our one-day events, as well as reduced prices for IBM Education offerings.

All our events provide you with a chance to link up other IT managers and directors.

Support with IBM
If you have issues with IBM that you have not been able to resolve through normal channels, the CUA can mediate on your behalf.

COMMON UK

COMMON UK Is the UK ’s leading iSeries User Group, and is a part of COMMON Europe, affiliated to the global COMMON iSeries user organisation, giving it a very powerful voice in the iSeries world.

The Group specialises in the arrangement of technical briefings designed with the aim of providing an independent forum for iSeries users to:

Network with other users’s and exchange views and experiences

  • Keep up to date with what is happening in the iSeries world
  • Gain information that will enable better utilisation of iSeries technology
  • Increase the benefit that iSeries technology to you business
  • Learn about opportunities in a non-sales pitch environment
  • Have a chance to ask questions about issues and give feedback to IBM

COMMON UK has direct access to IBM specialists from the iSeries labs in Toronto and Rochester, and regularly hosts events featuring these iSeries experts, as well as the cream of the UK iSeries community. Multi-day events are usually accompanied by vendor exhibitions .

Membership of COMMON UK is automatic for members of the CUA, but non-members may also attend events. To find out more about the CUA please contact us by one of the methods below .

Business Partner Group

The IBM Computer Users Association (CUA) Business Partner Group provides a forum for IBM Business Partners to:

  • Network with other BP's and exchange views and experiences
  • Find out what is happening in the IBM world
  • Gain a greater understanding of the best way to work with IBM
  • Find ways to make money from working in partnership with IBM
  • Have a chance to ask questions about issues and give feedback to IBM

The Business Partner Group receives the active support of IBM through the provision of speakers from the various IBM Channels, but is independently organised and run by the CUA on behalf of BP's.

The CUA BP Group meets two to three times a year usually in IBM Warwick and membership is open to any organisation participating in one of IBM's formal partnership programmes, whether they be distributors, business partners, or independent software providers.

There is a nominal cost of attending each meeting but membership of the CUA is not necessary. To be added to the invitee list for the IBM CUA Business Partner Group, please contact us by one of the methods below.
