The Business Partner search engine allows searching through a database of all IBM Business Partners.
All Business Partners are responsible for maintaining their own profile. Therefor the amount and quality of data retrieved here wil vary.
Search can only find content that is actually in the database. If content is out of date, misspelled or missing, a search query cannot make up for it.
The database referenced is called BP Connections. BP Connections is linked to the Partner Profiling System (PPS). Business Partner information is updated by the business partners themselves.
The search feature and the database support wildcards (*) and all special characters - like ä, å, æ, ç, é, ķ, ł, ö, ß, ש , ñ, ø, Ж and other non-standard latin. But, the letter and the term you search for must also appear in the db! Else, they can not be found.
Example: if a BP enters the name of a city only with its English spelling (eg Brussels), a search for the local language name (Bruxelles, Brussel) could not find this business partner! BPs have to spell out any/all words in their information in order to be found for all possible searches.
